PREVIEW. 04/05/2022. Alberto Navarro Real Madrid host Manchester City in the second leg of the sides' Champions League semi-final tie (9pm CET). Real Madrid are now just a game away from making the Champions League final in Paris. It's a case of all or nothing, with the Santiago Bernabéu faithful fully focused on willing our team on to stage a comeback following Manchester City's 4-3 triumph in the first leg of this semi-final tie. A win by a two-goal margin would be enough to see Carlo Ancelotti’s charges through to the final, whilst should the hosts win by one goal, the contest would go to extra time. A fine example of the bond between the team and fans was witnessed in Saturday's triumph against Espanyol that clinched the club’s 35ª Liga crown. Real Madrid will be relying on that togetherness to seal a spot in the club’s 17th European Cup final. “We need the fans and we're going to win, which will be magical,” Karim Benzema insisted after the final whistle of the first-leg contest. His comments were echoed by Rodrygo: “We know just what a strong side we are at the Bernabéu and we're going to try and do it together with the fans. We hope to make it through to the final.”

The Italian boss previewed the game in the following terms: “There's a very good vibe and we're feeling confident and are capable of doing it.” Also on media duty was Luka Modrić and he commented that: “We have to play with personality, energy and show that we're Real Madrid.” Current form Real Madrid and Manchester City ran out winners by the same scoreline in their latest league outings. Pep Guardiola's men secured a 4-0 away triumph over Leeds to keeps themselves top of the Premier League standings with a one-point lead over Liverpool with four rounds of games remaining. City have only tasted defeat once in their last 15 matches, which have yielded 10 wins. The man in the middle in tonight's game will be Daniele Orsato.
